【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversthematerialandfabricationofnewreusablemetal(slottedangle)cratesintendedforuseascontainersfordomesticandoverseasshipmentoflightweightairframecomponentsandlightweightbulkyitems,notexceeding3000lb[1361kg]fordomesticoroverseasairandsurfaceshipments.1.2Slottedanglecrateperformanceisdependentonitsfabricatedcomponents;therefore,avarietyoftypes,classes,andstylesreflectingvariedperformancearespecified.Thisspecification,however,doesnotcoverslottedanglecrateperformanceunderallatmosphere,handling,shipping,andstorageconditions.1.3Iftheuseofotherconstructionmethodsortechniquesareacceptableandpermitted(see),theresultingpackagingsystemsshallbeofequalorbetterperformancethanwouldresultfromtheuseofthesespecifiedmaterialsandprocedures.TheappropriatedistributioncyclespecifiedinPracticeD4169canbeusedtodevelopcomparativeproceduresandcriteria.1.4Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.SeeIEEE/ASTMSI10forconversionofunits.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthestandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
